Prayer Chain
Group prayer can be very powerful. At Calvary there are two formal ways to ask others to join with you in prayer.
Prayer Requests
During the Sunday worship service, the pastor invites everyone to request prayers by sharing both joys and concerns. These requests are incorporated into the pastoral prayer. Members of the congregation are encouraged to pray during the week for those who have been mentioned.
Prayer Chain
Calvary also has a wonderful resource called the Prayer Chain. A dedicated group of Calvary members have volunteered to pray in response to a request generated by anyone in the congregation.
Doris Portley coordinates the Prayer Chain. Contact Doris or the church office if you have a prayer request for yourself, a family member or friend. It's fine to give the person's first name only, but please be sure to describe the situation. Then Doris will send an e-mail containing this information through the chain. She appreciates updates on those being held in prayer.
Any Calvary member is welcome to volunteer to join the Prayer Chain, and become part of this vital prayer ministry. It's a very meaningful way to serve the church and help others. If you are interested, please let Doris know.
